Tonya Ellington, Founder/President With many years in the Entertainment Field as well as being a Blue Collar worker Tonya E. retired in July 2007, dued to an on the job injury. Even through her trials, tribulations and storms she continue to walk in her DIVINE ORDER which was spoken and planted within her inner spirit in late August of 2005. Tonya E. recalls as she was due to awake for work on this morning her inner voice spoke "Stop Cussin". As she gather her thoughts together she remember saying to her inner spirit, "Lord what do you mean Stop Cussin?, soon after she recalls hearing, "Tell my people that their tongues are very powerful and what they speak will come to pass. Tonya E. had long heard her Higher Power speak to her on many occasions, however she had choose to be disobedient. Since November 2004 she submitted herself 200% back to her spiritual beings and has not turned back since. She no longer lives in that state of not hearing nor not obeying, however she hears and instantly obey. Five years later the "Stop Cussin" Campaign has grown much more than she imagined, however she knows there is so much more to blossom, because she has been ANOINTED & APPOINTED to deliver her Higher Power Message to the Masses. 2009/2010 NEW YEARS MESSAGE
JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT THE ROAD YOU WERE TRAVELING WAS STRAIGHT..ERR..HERE COMES A CURVE.." LIFE! " By Tonya Ellington ( original written 12.14.08 )
Have you ever noticed while driving or even a passenger in a car that the road looks straight? Have you ever noticed that even when you're about to approach that curve the road still looks to be straight? Have you ever noticed the roads you travel daily are built and structured just like LIFE?
Just in case you never really gave it any thought ~ let me the first to introduce you to your journey of roadblocks. Everyone goes through life with decision making, goals incorporated with big dreams, and visions of being the next millionaire. Many of times one is not prepared to endure the curves that are setup to steer you out of your lane or steer you towards your next destination safe and sound. See, each individual person has a road to travel and it's not always straight. One has to become mature in their spirits, minds and souls to understand and take full charge of their steering wheel called " LIFE! "
Life is made up of many ingredients which you can't list them all on the back of your seasoning bottles. However, you can sprinkle a little of this and add a little of that, but know that the measurements has to be right. You must be sure you have added the right people, places and things at their rightful SEASON. When you decide to do things your way without the RIGHT ingredients your roads will become curvy and LIFE will become complicated!
So before you get on the road to travel be sure you have your seatbelt on and your hands on the wheel. Being confident and comfortable in your LIFE will make all the curves much easier to handle. You will reach your destination safe and sound because all along you had the GREATEST INSTRUCTOR ~ Our Heavenly FATHER!
" Proverb 12:25 Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad. "

STOP THE PRESSES! WHAT THE *^%#? The ‘Stop Cussin LLC Campaign’ Generates the Buzz, While Brent Hatch of ‘The No Cussing Club’ Gets the National Recognition Is This Modern Day Racism? African-American Owned Organization Initiates and Sparks Interest in Stopping the Youth from Cursing, but Caucasian Man Obtains All of the Credit
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
North Charleston, SC, March 14, 2009 -- Imagine an entity coming along saying that they have invented the Big Mac®, after McDonald’s® so poignantly formulated the Big Mac’s great taste and unique sauce, so one might understand why African-American founder, Tonya ‘Miss Right Now’ Ellington, of grassroots organization Stop Cussin LLC Campaign – a campaign that was spiritually birthed in 2005 in the Bronx, New York, would find it to be appalling that, after creating the campaign that she professes was ‘ordained by God,’ a campaign that Ellington took time to put the special ingredients into and made to be not for a profit, has been taken by Caucasian California resident, Brent Hatch by way of his son, McKay Hatch, as they started The No Cussing Club in 2007 and have seemingly turned it into a for-profit circus, while gaining all of the national accolades for something that was in existence long before the thought of profiting from some one else’s (the community) pain, and utilizing it to simply be catchy and gain national attention, which, in turn would equate to the possibility of dollars. Using the pureness of a campaign that was initially started as a way to uplift youth from all walks of life, and not only stop them from using profanity as a way of conveying a message, but teach them that there are opportunities that extend beyond what they see on television, hear in a song or may even witness in the confinements of their own neighborhood.
"I have done this from my own pockets – no corporate sponsors, no fanfare, no wanting to use children as a pawn for me to make a profit – because I have a son that is about the same age as McKay Hatch, but I know that in order for this to be effective, it has to be spearheaded from an adult. I have ‘community sponsors,’ people that give their time to the cause because they, too, want to see their communities uplifted. It is deeper than cussing, so for anyone that may think that we have bigger issues in the world than just cussing, think again. The bigger issue is that we are now allowing television, radio and negative elements in the community to raise our youth, and that is what the Stop Cussin Campaign has always been about since its inception – challenging the minds of our youth and certainly profanity is one element that has an adverse impact on how they may think and feel, and if we can achieve restructuring their minds and what comes out of their mouth, then we have won half of the battle. You can imagine how I felt when I saw Brent Hatch and his son, McKay Hatch, on the Dr. Phil show in 2008. Hatch appearing to be an opportunist using the opportunity to exploit his young son, who was totally oblivious as to why he wanted for others to join him in not cursing. I became completely numb, and wondered why they received the national coverage, but my organization has been in existence before theirs. I also thought of the possibility of them tarnishing all that myself and my campaign has worked hard to achieve through our countless of city to city workshops, seminars, health fairs, church and community events, while also rewarding the youth with free giveaways to keep them encouraged, with us never asking for any money. The interview clearly showed a young Hatch being uncomfortable with what he was saying, while the elder Hatch also seemed nervous as well. The son, who now seems to be left to fend for self these days, admitted that his dad still uses profanity in the home! So how can you not practice what you preach, unless your efforts are in fact for a profit?"
While Ellington, who is no stranger to the media, as she has spent most of her life as a television and radio personality, as well, she has received local and out of state coverage through newspapers, online radio interviews, local television interviews and online news sites, is not blaming this solely on race, she cannot help but wonder that if she had been of another race, would she have gotten into the national public eye a lot sooner with her efforts that have never been about recognition, but about raising awareness to help her expand in the helping hand process that her campaign would be able to lend to communities throughout the U.S. and abroad. As a woman of business, she has not only sent a Cease and Desist letter to Hatch for clearly infringing upon her campaign’s concepts, but has also called and spoken to the man with whom she feels has stolen from her campaign for personal gain – which proved to be evident when she was unpleasantly greeted with a mind boggling statement such as; ‘wouldn’t a campaign such as this seem better coming from my son?’
Keeping with Stop Cussin LLC Campaign’s mission of being ‘dedicated to continue our works as a grassroots organization with creating opportunities, rebuilding the community back together as a village and empowering every young and elder person which crosses our path. We know firsthand what the communities yearn for and are so desperately in need of…Even though our mission has been spiritually birthed in 2005, our hard work from then until now is making a difference and leaving an inerasable mark for Love, Hope and Character. We will not be sold for a price. The future of our youths and elders depends on us taking a stand for what is right, not the "Price is Right!"’ With the above mentioned being stated, Ellington asks that Brent Hatch does the only right and respectable thing, and that is to admit that he has taken her campaign’s idea from a conceptual stance and immediately donate any ‘for-profit’ funds to the Stop Cussin LLC Campaign to help the youth and enter it into the hands of people that are desperately in need of the assistance, while also allowing donators to their campaign to actually see where the money is going, and what it is going towards. She also requests that communities, Hip-Hop and organizations alike, boycott The No Cussing Club – an ‘organization’ where you really do not know where your donation dollars are being spent. Be it racial division, nationally, or be it politically driven, Ellington would like to make it known here and now, that the Stop Cussin LLC Campaign is the only true and unique campaign of its kind (nationally or locally), with pure intent and that ‘they will not be MOVED!’

Movement Targets Youth to Clean the Dirty Mouths
Kamirria Harris
The Stop Cussin Movement aims to eliminate the use of profanity in children's everyday dialogue by using animated characters to deliver the message. The movement's mascot, Big Brother, and the animated Stop Cussin Kids, Jazzmin and Treyvar, represent children who are "victims of air pollution when one decides to use profanity and not respect their space." The message is being delivered by an assortment of items such as apparel, housewares and posters. The Stop Cussin Movement is in the works of creating a cartoon and a commercial to coincide with the printed material. The birth of the Stop Cussin Movement can be attributed to Tonya Ellington, also known as Miss Right Now. As the founder of the movement and its concept, she created the idea in September 2005. The movement was introduced to the world in January 2006 via radio programs. A "woman of many trades," Ellington has worked in various fields within the music industry for nearly 21 years. She now runs the movement independently while also being fully employed at a large corporation. The No Curse Tour stresses that people should be a part of the solution and not the problem. Ellington said children will curse less if the people around them curse less. She encourages older siblings, parents and other adults to watch what they say when children are listening. The movement has received some recognition through media outlets, churches, PTA meetings and youth summits. Having traveled to New York, Ohio and Florida, the tour is expected to expand to more locations in the near future. Ellington said the movement is progressing. She said the first step children need to take in rectifying their word usage is admitting that they curse. Ellington shared a story of a young girl who admitted she cursed because her mother often used profane language in her presence. The girl soon made changes to her vocabulary after relocating to live with her grandmother. "If it's in your environment, you will become adapted to it," Ellington said. Sophomore sociology major Melanie Holst-Collins agreed. "It's inevitable," she said. "Children are going to be socially influenced no matter how their parents raise them because children are constantly being exposed to profanity." She said Ellington's idea has merit. "However, this effort is worth a try in order to create a generation of young people who respect themselves, their peers and other people around them." As a single mother of a 10-year-old son, Ellington said it is her responsibility to instill in him, as well as in other youth, the right values. Believing in the motto, "it takes a village to raise a child," Ellington said this task was meant for her because her heart is set in helping people. Staying true to her Christian beliefs, Ellington said the movement was a "God given mission" that was put in her spirit to complete. "It has nothing to do with me, but it is an assignment that has been given to me," she said. Ellington referred to Proverbs 30:11-14, which she said displays the need for the Stop Cussin Movement. It reads, "There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother. There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords and their jaw teeth as knives to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men." Ellington has a message for Howard University and the rest of the world. "Let's keep it real, speak the truth," she said. "Watch the tongue because it's powerful." ********************************************************************************************************** Article Coverage at Teen Awareness Day on Dec. 16, 2006
Story by Brenda Jeanne Wyche (Black Star News) In my day, if a child cussed in front of an elder, we’d get the taste slapped out of our mouths. These days, try that, and the child’s parent is liable to track you down and shoot you. Thank God for Tanya E. a/k/a Miss Right Now who is on her “Stop Cussin’ Tour” and came thru to show love to the children and youth at the AMAG/Fort Greene Volunteers’ second Teen Awareness Day, Saturday, December 16th at P.S. 46 in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. PR guru and esteemed author, Terrie Williams, Georgia Woodbine, Author of How To Make Big Bucks Without Selling Your Soul, poet, Shavelle Knox, musician, B’Anka Brown and Tanya E. a/k/a Miss Right Now, Inc., and others came out to spend quality time with some really adorable children and youths with amazing young minds -- giving them inspiration and just spreading love.
This is the second event in 3 months of the newly instituted program entitled, Teen Awareness Day, which was initiated by AMAG and The Fort Greene Volunteers. Children and youth come from all over New York City to participate in the day of enlightenment, inspiration and fun while meeting celebrities and enjoying the festivities of the day. This month, the event was hosted by Tony Herbert of The Professionals, who did his usual excellent job as events host.
Tanya E. a/k/a Miss Right Now, Inc., came, wielding a powerful message for the kids – Stop Cussin! Ms. Right Now is on her Stop Cussin tour with a powerful message: Every time you cuss, you’re disrespecting YOURSELF! You’re showing your level of vocabulary! Your words are part of your character! Words can speak one into DEATH! Think before you speak! Respect each other, respect your elders and most of all, RESPECT YOURSELF! Miss Right Now gave a very powerful presentation and the kids really absorbed it and took it home.
Terrie Williams, the highly sought after lecturer and public relations extraordinaire and Founder and President of The Stay Strong Foundation, a national non-profit organization designed to educate and encourage American youth gave an extraordinary presentation. It was instant love between Terrie and the children at the December, 2006 Teen Awareness Day program.
Ms. Williams’ openness and welcoming spirit was an immediate winner with the children. Rather than to do a conventional stand up lecture, talking to or at the kids, Ms. Williams chose to sit on the steps leading up to the P.S. 46 Auditorium stage, maintaining a comfortable eye-level while just chatting with the kids. Williams’ interactive style and genuine love and appreciation for the kids turned into a mutual lovefest.
Admittedly, for a moment, some of the children re-focused their attention in another direction and started talking over Terrie to a point that she had to interrupt her presentation. But the manner in which Terrie restored the order was inspiring and a lesson that all parents should have the privilege to learn. Rather than having a battle of the voices; yelling or calling for assistance in maintaining the order, Terrie involved the kids interactively by asking, “What would you do in my situation?” Once the kids began to reverse the situation and put themselves in Terrie’s shoes, there was complete order.
I say this with no exaggeration – the relationship between Williams and the kids was as sheep flocking to a shepherd. I’m not sure the children grasped the value of the lessons they learned from Terrie Williams that day, but as they grow and develop, they will remember what Williams shared and her words will help mold them into successful men and women – people with strong values, self-love and much more.
